What's in HER bag - Megan Roup

Celebrities and models flock to The Sculpt Society to stay long and lean. Get to know Megan Roup, a former dancer and the founder of The Sculpt Society, and how she uses sliders to keep her clients in shape.

Q: Your class, Megan Roup + The Sculpt Society, has gained a following with a few celebrities and models as its designed to tone and lengthen the body. What inspired you to create your class and how can people get started?

A: I selfishly developed a program with everything I had always wanted in a class. These 50 minutes move quickly and not only is there a  fun + positive vibe, but you'll also get a kick a** workout. I teach classes at Project by Equinox and Studio B in NYC.

Q: Your class often uses sliders - what are these for and how do you use them?

A: Yes! I truly love using my sliders in all of my classes and with my private clients. They have really changed my body. The sliders makes movement challenging by creating instability in the exercise and forces you to not only use your muscles, but your brain has to kick into gear. You can purchase my dual sided sliders on my website + they come with 3 workouts.

Q: For women who do not live in New York City or are unable attend a The Sculpt Society class, is there another way they can try it? What would you recommend for newcomers to your class?

A: Yes! I stream online classes on obé. obé offers live and on-demand classes. I am happy to share my code SCULPTWITHMEGAN for a discount off your first month + 1 week free.

For newcomers to my class I always encourage them to have fun and to keep coming back. It takes a couple classes to get the hang of the movement, so the more consistent you can be the better you're going to get!

Q: We all know that what you eat is equally important to working out. Do you have any favorite go to healthy snacks and places to eat before, in between, and after class?

A: I'm recently on a smoothie kick in mornings before I workout. After class I LOVE ezikiel toast and avocado, I honestly could eat that everyday. If I am in a bind or rush my go to bar is Sakara's energy bar- it's super clean. Healthy spots I love in NYC: Juice generation, two hands, Digg Inn, Sweet Green, BlueStone Lane and Juice Press.

Q: Today's women lead active lifestyles and need to pack their whole day into one bag. Tell us, #whatsinyourbag

A: Things that you'll always find in my bag are:
